Nokia 6263: How do I get GMAIL Opera Mini to access internet on T-Mobile 6263? How do I unbrand/application unlock the 6263?

I bought my Nokia 6263 from here

I've got a Nokia 6263 from T-Mobile and have a $5.99 T-MobileWeb WAP internet plan. I've downloaded and installed GMAIL and Opera Mini onto the phone, but when these applications try to access internet, it failed and gives me error message saying I do not have network access. After doing some research on the internet, I've found the solution:

The Nokia 6263 phone from T-Mobile comes in a firmware that does not allow any 3rd party application to access internet. To solve this problem, you need to replace the firmware with a different one. Sounds scary? It's actually quite easy and safe to do.

1st step,

Download and install Nokia Software Updater from Nokia's official website: http://www.nokiausa.com/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_189408

2nd step,

Connect your Nokia 6263 phone with your PC via USB cable, make sure you set the Connectivity settings to USB->Nokia mode

3rd step,

Launch Nokia Software Updater, search for updates for your phone, we are are looking for 5.20 firmware update. Unfortunately, you won't find any right now. Because your phone's "Product Code" is set to a T-Mobile code which don't give you 5.20 firmware.

4th step,

We need to change the Product Code of your phone to a different code: 0547824 . This is a valid Nokia product code that will entitle you to a 5.20 firmware update and that firmware will not have the 3rd party internet access restriction installed by T-Mobile

5th step,

Google it and download Nemesis Service Suite to your PC. I downloaded it from brothersoft. This is a software that allow you to change the "Product Code" on your Nokia phone.

6th step,

Run Nemesis Service Suite to change the "Product Code" to 0547824. See the screen shot below:

7th step,
Run Nokia Software Updater and search for updates for your phone. It will show you a 5.20 firmware is available. Download and install it.

That's it, you have successfully upgraded your Nokia 6263's firmware to 5.20 and now all your 3rd party application can access internet now.

When using Nemesis and Scanning for Product, I aways get an Error message. I get the same when attempting to change the product code.

Any suggestions?

What is the error message you get?

This might fix your error: Change the "USB data cable" to "Nokia Mode" under Settings->Connectivity (on the phone).

Has T-Mobile ever billed you for excess data usage since you've done this?

I just got my Nokia 6263 and it came with the 5.20 firmware version, but it does not run opera mini. Any way you can help?

To Dakkenthered:

T-Mobile never bill me anything in addition to my $5.99 t-zone plan. This modification is totally legal. It just remove the network port lock for 3rd party applications.

To Garrett
I would recommend you go through the steps listed here to change the Product Code to a non-T-Mobile code (0547824). T-Mobile's 5.20 firmware has the 3rd party network lock, but the 0547824 firmware doesn't.

I have the same 5.99 plan, but figured it would be best to ask you just to be safe.

I try to use the NSS, but it doesnt recognize my phone, even in "nokia mode". It says the USB drivers are missing. How do I find and install them?

When I change the product code and hit write, I still can't find 5.20 on Nokia Software Update

Is there any way to backup the original firmware in case I want to go back to the tmobile settings? I guess it's just changing the phone code back to tmobile's and trying to update again, right?
